Reactions of gallocyanine methyl ester with ions of noble earths

Abstract

Reactions of gallocyanine methyl ester with ten ions of noble earths have been followed spectrophotometrically in 10 to 30% (m/m) ethanol medium at pH 6.5 to 7.8. The trivalent cations and the ligand form complexes of ML3 type, their stability constants have been calculated by analysis of curves of concentration ratios and continuous variations.
