Abstract
Incorporation of 2H-, 13C- and 14C-labelled precursors into mucidin (I) was studied by mass and 13C NMR spectroscopy and chemical degradations. Biosynthesis of I is connected with shiki-mate and acetate-malonate pathways. Methionine participates on the C- and O-methylation.
