Abstract
The synthesis of several O-aroylbenzamidoximes I and of some N-aroyl(II) as well as of bis(aroyl)benzamidoximes (III) is described and their fragmentation pattern in the mass spectra is discussed. O- and N-Aroylbenzamidoximes are distinguished on the basis of their mass spectra since the O-derivatives afford the ion corresponding to the acid [ArCOOH]+. whereas the N-derivatives the ion corresponding to the amide [ArCO+NH].
