Abstract

The uptake of [3H]PMEA by human T-lymphoblastoid cells (CCRF-CEM) apparently proceeds by fluid-phase endocytosis. The transport kinetics was shown to be nonconcentrative and nonsaturable. The uptake takes place even at a low temperature (4 °C), is strictly dependent on the intracellular level of ATP, is not substantially affected by cell suspension density and is not competitively inhibited by other PME derivatives.
