Abstract

A series of new push-pull 2-(ω-phenylalkenyl)benzothiazolium compounds with methyl groups in different positions of the conjugated alkenyl bridge were synthesized by alkylation and condensation. The antimicrobial testing has been carried out and the effect of the alkenyl substituent was investigated by the QSAR Free-Wilson method.
